The internet has made it possible to build communities from anywhere, but it hasn’t made it any easier to build ones that last. Now, almost every community builder is asking the same question: what makes people stick around?
For three weeks in October, we’re bringing together community managers, DAO operators, gathering organisers, citizenship-network builders, and people running physical spaces. Everyone approaches the same challenges through a different lens, and everyone arrives with something to share.
The Community Builders Residency at Edge City India, hosted by Oddtable and Jungli the Nomad Village, is where those lenses meet.
The setup
The cohort lives together at Oddtable’s co-living space in Mandrem, with full access to everything Edge City India offers: coworking, community meals, wellness programming, talks, workshops, and hundreds of builders, researchers, and creatives across the three-week popup village. The basics are covered so residents can focus on the work.
Mornings are for deep work alongside the cohort. Afternoons turn into workshops, conversations, and collaborative problem-solving. Evenings drift into shared dinners, potlucks, and the kinds of conversations that continue long after the session ends.
Oddtable runs a co-living hub in Mandrem built around gathering. Jungli the Nomad Village runs longer-form community programming across India. Between them, the residency has hosts who’ve spent years running exactly the kind of gatherings the cohort is here to talk about.
What’s included
Coworking & Deep Work: Shared work sessions throughout the residency.
Cross-Community Learning: Peer-led workshops and conversations.
Physical Infrastructure: Exposure to how Jungli the Nomad Village, NomadGao, Build3, and Oddtable operate community spaces in India.
Unconference & Local Immersion: Resident-led sessions, moving through Mandrem, Ashwem, and Panjim beyond the residency house
The three week program
Week 1 sets the shared foundation: Community introductions, a Hero’s Journey workshop, a Physical Communities panel with Jungli, NomadGao, Build3, and Oddtable, a Brand Evangelism workshop, and an AI for Experience workshop.
Weeks 2 and 3 are shaped by the residents themselves: A resident-led unconference, community dinners and potlucks, treks and café hopping around Mandrem and Ashwem, and a History Day in Panjim.
Who should apply
This residency is for people who actively build communities, online, offline, or somewhere in between. Community managers, DAO operators, gathering organisers, citizenship-network builders, and people running physical or online spaces where others gather, contribute, and return.
No matter what you're building, we want residents who show up to share what they know and to learn from the room. The best cohorts are the ones where the group leaves knowing more collectively than any one person walked in with.
If that's the kind of room you want to be in, we'd love to have you in this residency.

About Oddtable and Jungli
Oddtable and Jungli the Nomad Village both run physical spaces built around gathering. Oddtable’s co-living space in Mandrem is designed to slow people down and put them in the same room. Jungli the Nomad Village runs an application-only nomad village and coliving in the jungles of Karnataka, inland from Goa, where over 650 nomads, artists, and builders have come to live and work since 2024. Between them, this residency has hosts who’ve spent years running exactly the kind of gatherings the cohort is here to talk about.
