Welcome to Edge City India
Applications are open. October 11 – November 1, Mandrem, North Goa.
June 30, 2026

Edge City India is a three-week popup village on the northern coast of Goa, from October 11 to November 1, 2026.
The format is the same as our previous villages: a temporary community of founders, scientists, researchers, engineers, artists, and builders who share a coworking space, live side by side, and run their own programming throughout the village. At the center are residencies: groups of 5 to 50 people who co-live and work together around a shared theme.
You don’t need to join a residency to come. Many people attend solo and find their community once they’re on the ground. Ticket holders get early access to residency announcements as they go live.
Keep reading for everything you need to know: how to join, what daily life looks like, and how residencies work.
"Edge City did an excellent job integrating diverse participants from all kinds of backgrounds: technical and non-technical, crypto, biotech and culture, young and old. I learned a lot from my time there."
— Vitalik Buterin
Why Goa, why now?
India has one of the most active builder ecosystems in the world. Edge City India brings that community together with an international network of founders, scientists, researchers, and artists for a month of real collaboration.
We chose the northern coast of Goa because it operates at a different pace than anywhere else in India. It’s a quiet stretch of beach that India’s creative and founder class has been returning to for years, not for the parties, but because it’s one of the few places in the country where the noise drops away.
Founders who have spent time in Mandrem describe something similar: you stop tracking what’s happening in the startup scene and start thinking about your actual work. The shift is driven by a desire for a better quality of life, a growing community of remote entrepreneurs, and proactive government support for the “Work from Goa” ecosystem.
The intentional timing of Edge City India creates a unique three-week incubation window leading up to Devcon Mumbai (November 3–6) and Diwali after (Oct 8th). It serves as a dedicated living lab for founders and engineers to prototype, create and launch the concepts discussed at these events.
October is also widely considered the sweet spot for visiting Goa, perfectly balancing the post-monsoon lush greenery with the return of favorable beach conditions before the peak winter crowds arrive.
Our coworking anchor is TheCircle.Work - a premium coworking network that also runs The Circle Founders Club, India’s leading cross-border acceleration platform across 18+ geographies.
“Edge City is unparalleled in its ability to cultivate multi-disciplinary ecosystems that accelerate progress in frontier industries.”
— Juan Benet, Protocol Labs Founder
Live Well, Build Well
Edge City is built around a simple belief: when you flourish, your work flourishes too. Think healthy food, ocean air, daily movement, meaningful connection, and space to think shape the rhythm of each day.
A day might look like:
- Morning: Open-air workout on the beach, a swim in the Arabian Sea, then breakfast with a protocol researcher and a biotech founder
- Midday: Walk to TheCircle; swap ideas with someone from another residency; settle into three hours of focused work with the sea outside the window
- Afternoon: Take a meeting on the sand, join a workshop you didn’t plan to attend, or ride up the coast with someone you’ve been meaning to learn from
- Evening: Community dinner with fresh Goan seafood, late conversation about what someone’s building, a sauna session to close the day
- Weekend: Beach trips, night markets, scooter rides up the coast, slow meals with new friends and locals
We’re building a village where it’s easy to feel good, do your best work, push your edge, and imagine new ways to live.
October in Goa is shoulder season - the monsoon is winding down, the crowds haven’t arrived, and accommodation options are still good. Book early once you’re accepted.

What is a Residency?
At the heart of the village are residencies: temporary homes built around a shared theme, with groups of 5–50 people co-living and collaborating in a villa or boutique hotel.
“Running the Art on the Edge residency was one of the most valuable uses of my time last year — personally, professionally, and creatively.”
— Justin Melillo, Founder, Monaverse
Some residencies run like focused sprints: intense, output-driven, building toward something specific by the end of three weeks. Others work more like research retreats: slower, exploratory, thinking through a problem together. Many combine both.
Past Edge City residencies have produced open-source tools, research collaborations, new companies, and friendships that outlasted the village by years.
Some previous residency examples are:
- Long Journey Residency - helping magically weird founders leap from -1 to 0
- d/acc Residency by Protocal Lab - building decentralized and democratic tech
- Human Tech Residency - prototyping humanistic technologies
- Lisk Emerging Markets Founders Residency - leveling up founders from LATAM & Africa
- World Builder Residency - shipping meaningful apps using proof of human
We provide the infrastructure: coworking, wellness, demo days, connective tissue, and a public calendar that lets residencies host events for the whole village.
We’re working with early organizers now and will announce confirmed residencies over the coming weeks. Ticket holders get early access and first dibs.
