March 10, 2026

Over the past two years, this program ran as the Edge City Fellowship, supporting four cohorts of builders. Starting in 2026, we're renaming it the Inflection Fellowship. The reason is simple: this fellowship and our Inflection Grants program share a core belief that small, well-timed interventions during a young builder's formative years can become genuine inflection points in their trajectory. The unified name reflects that shared philosophy, which we and Long Journey are thrilled to push forward.

The Inflection Fellowship is a month long in-person program that empowers 12 exceptional builders under the age of 25 per year who are dedicated to accelerating human flourishing across frontier tech, science, and society. It is organized by Edge City and Long Journey.

The fellowship features a full-ride to a monthly Edge City flagship event in 2026. The experience involves living amongst hundreds of multidisciplinary builders, thinkers, creatives, and industry leaders. The first cohort will participate in Edge Esmerelda in California; the second cohort will participate in Edge City India in Q4 2026.

Who it is for: high-agency builders under 25 years old who are working on a magically weird project, problem space, or kernel of an idea that would benefit from the multidisciplinary setting of an Edge City.

You don’t have to already be thinking about building a company around your idea; previous fellows have used this time to enable locals to create a biomechanical artwork show, solve an “unsolvable” maths theorem, and work on the politics of AGI.

☀️ Applications for the Inflection Fellowship are now open - apply here! We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis, until the deadline of April 1st, 2026.

The Fellowship Experience

The fellowship includes:

1) A full ride to one of Edge City’s popup villages.

This means your housing and ticket for one of Edge City’s 2026 popup villages are completely covered. Fellows can choose to attend either

We aim for your popup village experience to be the most productive month of your year, a real inflection point for your work. You will learn from experts in frontier tech and science fields while incubating novel technology and ways of living.

2) Access to, and mentorship, from the Edge City Community

Edge City comprises a nearly unrivaled network of future-builders that includes leaders of AI, crypto, hard tech, longevity, governance, and other fields. This immersion is the "special sauce." It is a self-directed environment where a breakfast conversation with a quantum physicist can reshape an art project. A hike with a biohacker might spark a new product feature. Fellows are embedded in a living ecosystem of hundreds of curious minds, free to navigate the chaos and opportunity on their own terms.

To ground this high-energy experience, we establish a rhythm anchored by nightly debriefs into progress, frustrations, and life. The structure fosters a culture where wellness activities are treated with the same importance as shipping code. You’ll also live and work alongside your fellowship peers, bonding with incredibly talented and diverse thinkers over an incredible shared experience.

3) Opportunity for follow-on funding

Fellows who come out of this program are encouraged to keep building! By either:

  • Pitching to our partner and sponsor Long Journey (idea/work should be venture scalable)
  • Introductions to further grant programs
  • Opportunity to attend and share your work at the Long Journey founder summit.

Who Are We Looking To Select?

We are looking for curious, kind and high-agency builders from diverse backgrounds, who have demonstrated commitment to building solutions for a meaningful problem. You must be under 25 years old when you’ll attend the popup village, and you must have a magically weird idea or project in mind to work on during the month. The fellowship works best when you can also bring a skill or other interest to the wider Edge ecosystem: this could be anything from leading a group yoga session to helping someone in the village with a technical problem.

Previous fellows have used the time to do everything from pivoting a product while improving their relationship to work  to empowering the local community to be able to automatically calibrate their hearing aids without the need for a doctor visit.

Credentials-wise, we only require that you have a strong proof-of-work portfolio. You don’t have to have graduated from high-school or college.

Our aim is to select 10-12 exceptional Fellows this year, split between the two popup villages for 2026. If you can’t make one of the villages for 2026, feel free to still apply to get on our mailing list.

Fellowship Expectations

By the end of the Fellowship, each fellow will have…

  • Contributed meaningfully to a popup village experience
  • Made significant progress on some body of work, and presented that to the wider Edge City community
  • Made high-quality connections in fields they care about diving more deeply into, including one or more mentor relationships.
  • Found mentors & friends for life
